See you Saturday for Yule?

We're getting all gussied up and ready to have company Saturday for our Yuletide celebration!  You will be joining us, right?  Don't forget!  It's this Saturday, December 8th at the Norton Younglove Senior Center, 908 Park Avenue in Calimesa ($5 donation requested).  Ritual starts at 7:00, but you can come as early as six o'clock to have time to set everything down and shmooze a little.

After the ritual, we'll be feasting on ham, turkey and stuffing, more ham, beef brisket, mashed potatoes and gravy... I'm getting hungry just writting this!  I'm sure we'll enjoy whatever you bring too!

At some point in the evening, Father Winter will be there with gifts for the kids!  You have been good, right?  (Let's hope he forgets to bring any coal!)

We'll be singing pagan caroles too!  We have the traditional favorites like "A Holly Jolly Yuletide,"  "Deck the Halls" and "The Holly Tree Carol" and our own personal favorites like "Share the Light," "The Goddess Rest ye Merry, Witch" and "Dancing in a Wiccan Wonderland."  Don't worry if you don't know the words, you can pick up a copy for a $1.

I almost forgot about the raffle!  We're having an amazing raffle where you have a chance to win some spectacular stuff!  There's lots of books, a bejeweled mirror, and even a fairy house!  I won't tell if you decide to keep it for yourself.  Promise!

And please don't forget to support our military folks with a donation for Operation Circle Care.  They're looking for new or gently used pagan jewelry, music, crystals, small God and Goddess statues, pagan books (no nudity!), incense, oils, altar cloths, etc.

Oh!  Before I forget, I was asked to please point out that if you click where it says "Location: Norton Younglove Center" at the bottom of this post, it brings up google maps.  After all, we wouldn't want you to get lost!

In Honor of our Veterans...

Touchstone will be joining with Dogwood Local Council & Everglades Moon Local Council in supporting Operation Circle Care, which sends care packages with Pagan books, magazines, CDs, and other spiritual resources to Wiccans and other Pagans on active duty in war zones.

We will be collecting donations of new and gently used items at our Yule ritual in Calimesa on Saturday, December 8th.  I know you're already bringing something for the potluck, and possibly something for the raffle, but please consider bringing any of the following for our brothers and sisters who are currently deployed in combat:

  • Pentacles
  • Ankhs
  • Awen symbols
  • Thor's Hammers
  • Sun symbols
  • Moon symbols
  • Goddess and/or God symbols
  • Green Man/Woman symbols
  • Wheel of the Year symbols
  • Pagan Music, Meditation (CDs & DVDs)
  • ATT phone cards
  • Crystals
  • Small God and Goddess statues
  • Pagan Books (No nudity)
  • Incense
  • Oils
  • Herbs
  • Small Wands
  • Small travel chalices
  • Altar cloths
  • Gift cards from store that ship overseas (for example Barnes and Noble or Amazon). Gift cards can be used for online holiday shopping so deployed soldiers can send gifts home to their children from overseas.
We look forward to seeing you at the ritual!

Yule Celebration in Calimesa

It's not even Halloween yet, and we're already talking about Yule?!  Yes! Because we're already hard at work planning our annual Yule celebration!

Our spectacular Soltice celebration is being held at the Norton Younglove Senior Center (same place as last year) on Saturday, December 8, 2012.  As always, we encourage you to bring your friends and family.  We're already hearing the ghosts of whispers that Father Winter will be there with gifts for the kids.

So please join us for an evening of fun, feasting, and merriment!  Did I forget to mention the caroling?  We'll be singing Yultide carols too!  Doors open at 6 o'clock for those who like to show up early.  Ritual begins at 7:00 and will be followed by our traditional potluck feast and raffle!  Please bring a dish to share for the potluck and if there are five or more in your party, please bring a main dish.  We are requesting a $5 donation at the door, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Pagan Pride Day: Saturday, September 29th

Touchstone Local Council will once again be participating in the Inland Empire's Pagan Pride Day and Autumn Harvest Faire!  Can you believe they've been doing this for twelve years already?! This awesome event is being held at the California Citrus State Historic Park in Riverside, California (just like last year), from 10 am to 5 pm.

It's going to be a fantastic and fun-filled day! There will be a variety of vendors (including our own Lady O and the Enchanted Crystal), lots of entertainment, several workshops and a family craft area for kids of all ages. Be sure to check their schedule for updates!

Touchstone Local Council will be providing a walk-at-your-own-pace meditational labyrinth laid out in bird seed and will also be doing tarot readings for a small donation.

Although there is no admission fee to the Harvest Faire, please bring a can of food (or more!) for donation to the local food banks in our area. If you donate two cans of food, you will receive a carnival ticket which entitles you to play a carnival game for a fun prize.
